Cotton bushes are the first (and so far only) non-food bearing crop. They yield cotton when harvested, and harvesting cotton does not destroy the bush; rather it reverts to an earlier stage of growth which then comes to maturity again. A single cotton bush can, in theory, yield an unlimited amount of cotton.

Cotton can be turned into string, which in turn can be turned into cloth, making cotton crops an alternative to harvesting wool from sheep.

Cotton seeds are sometimes obtained by destroying shrubs, or by destroying an immature cotton plant, they may also be obtained by combining Hybrid Wheat seeds with Orange Seeds
